History
Hey Hey 16K was released as the world's first ever free download single by Artists Against Success in October 1999, before coming out on CD the next year on the album
Say It With Words. Shortly after this
Need To Know magazine released a t-shirt featuring the lyrics.
In 2004 Rob Manuel of
B3ta.com created a
fantastic flash animation video for the song which went on to become a massive internet phenomenon - two million people downloaded it in the first two weeks alone! A second range of T-Shirts were produced and people all over the world wrote in to tell us how much the song meant to them. It was lovely!
To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the video's release (on May 4th 2014) a new "pay what you like" version of the single was made available via our
bandcamp site. It features the album version of the song, all the original tracks from the online single, and a demo for a proposed sequel, and you can pay as much or as little as you like for the whole package.
